Police in Baltimore County are investigating a fatal crash that occurred in the Chase area on Friday afternoon following calls to 9-1-1 for an erratic driver.
Authorities are attempting to determine whether the driver, 73-year-old Janet Anne Walper of the 1100-block of Chester Road, may have been suffering from a medical emergency prior to the crash.
Officers initially responded to call for an erratic driver in a silver Subaru Forester on Eastern Avenue at just before 3:30 p.m. The vehicle struck two mailboxes and then a utility pole west of Oliver Beach Road, causing the Subaru to roll over and eject the driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt.
Police and medics responded to the crash but the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing at this hour.
