Police: Overlea man falsified carjacking report

police-lightsPolice are investigating after a local man falsified a carjacking report.

Earlier this week, the White Marsh Precinct posted a report indicating that two men had forced a man out of his vehicle on October 12 in the area of Marion Avenue and Henry Avenue in Overlea-Fullerton (21236).



The report when on to say that the two suspects then fled the scene in the man’s vehicle.

As the investigation into this incident continued, detectives determined that the man had fabricated the carjacking story.

The man, who has not been identified, admitted to policed that he had left his vehicle running in an alley behind a bar. When he exited the bar, his vehicle had been stolen.

Police say there is no need for the community to be concerned at this time.

There is no word as to whether or not the victim has been charged in connection with falsifying the carjacking story.
