An annual tradition lives on in Parkville.

For the past seven years, volunteers have erected 2,977 flags along Putty Hill Avenue in honor of those who lost their lives in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

The 2018 Path of Honor monument went up on Friday morning and is ready for Tuesday’s 17th anniversary of that fateful day.

The “Path” consists of 2,977 American flags, each representing a life lost on 9/11. It stretches over 0.875 miles from Harford Road to the Parkville Fire and Police stations.

The annual event is organized by The Hope and Peace Foundation.
