Police in Howard County have charged an Essex man with 14 burglary cases over the past two years.
David Warren Chilcote, 66, of Wiltshire Road, has been charged with committing commercial burglaries, all but one in Ellicott City, between September 2016 and April 2018. The last case was in Fulton.
Chilcote has been captured on video at numerous businesses over the last two years, but often wore a mask. Police posted the surveillance photos on social media in May 2017, January 2018, and April 2018, but no one came forward to identify the suspect. Detectives continued to investigate and later determined the man in the images was Chilcote.
Chilcote is charged with multiple counts of burglary, destruction of property and theft for prying or attempting to pry doors at the following businesses, and in some cases, stealing cash.
