Police investigating fatal overnight crash on I-695 at Perring Parkway

The driver involved has been identified as Misti Donielle Sani Rookar Lake, 39, of Parkville.

Police believe Sedgwick was outside of his vehicle in the travel portion of I-695 at exit 31 when he was struck.

Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred along the beltway in Parkville overnight.



Details are sketchy, but initial reports indicate that at just after 11 p.m. on Thursday, a call was received indicating that there was a dead body located along the right shoulder of the Inner Loop at Perring Parkway.

Officers arrived on the scene and found the body, but were not able to render aid due to the extent of the injuries that had been sustained.

Preliminary, obvious injuries included head trauma, broken legs, and body disfigurement, according to police.

Emergency personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim dead at just before 11:30 p.m.

Troopers immediately secured the scene and shut down several lanes of the beltway. Police quickly located the striking vehicle and driver
on the Outer Loop at Harford Road. The vehicle of the victim was unattended with no damage about a quarter of a mile in front of where the victim was struck.

While the sequence of events is still being investigated, the striking vehicle sustained significant damage. The driver of the striking vehicle had no injuries.

The beltway was reopened at 3 a.m. The victim has not yet been identified.
