Water rescue reported in Seven Courts community

Water RescueCrews were on the scene of a Sunday afternoon water rescue in Carney/Perry Hall.

At just after 2 p.m., emergency personnel responded to Seven Courts Drive at Neves Court (21234), in the area of the stream across from the Weis Markets at in Perry Hall.

At the scene, rescue personnel found an adult male who was trapped in rising flood waters and clinging to a tree.

Michael Ciganek says his wife got a call from a neighbor at around 2 p.m. informing them that their son was stuck in the stream.

“My wife and I ran to the stream where I found my son and one of my daughters,” Ciganek told NottinghamMD. “My son said my other daughter was missing in the stream. I went into the stream to search for her and became trapped (in) the waters. (A few) minutes later, the Baltimore County Fire Department pulled me out. I was told my other daughter was OK.”

Another water rescue took place at Gunpowder Falls State Park in Perry Hall on Sunday evening.

A portion of Belair Road has been shut down due to flooding.

A flash flood warning is in effect for the area until 10:45 p.m.

No injuries were reported.
