Essex man killed in Middle River motorcycle crash

fatal-crashAuthorities are investigating after an Essex man was killed in an overnight motorcycle crash in Middle River.

At just before 2 a.m. on Sunday morning, police responded to a crash near the intersection of Pulaski Highway and Middle River Road (21220).



There, crash team investigators say that a 2014 Toyota Corolla was exiting the parking lot of Mo’s Seafood located in the 9700 block of Pulaski Highway.

The Toyota crossed over the eastbound lanes of Pulaski Highway and then made a left turn, entering the first westbound lane of Pulaski Highway.

At that time, a 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling westbound on Pulaski Highway and struck the rear of the Toyota. The driver of the motorcycle was taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma where he was pronounced dead at 3:26 a.m.

The driver of the Toyota was taken to another local hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the motorcycle was a 54-year-old man from the Essex area.

His name will be released once family members have been notified.
