Crews are on the scene of a Thursday afternoon house fire in Essex.

The fire was reported at about 12:45 p.m. in the 1700 block of Newport Circle, near Hopkins Landing Drive (21221).

Units from the White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company arrived to find fire through the roof of the single-family home.

There has been no word on any injuries.

Motorists should use caution in the area.
