The Baltimore Beltway was shut down in both directions on Thursday night due to a pair of serious crashes.

The first crash was reported at just after 8:30 p.m. along the outer loop between Harford Road and Perring Parkway.

While that crash was being cleaned up, a second serious crash occurred along the inner loop.

I-695 has been shut down in both directions between Perring Parkway and Belair Road.

A total of 9 individuals are being treated for injuries. Five vehicles were involved in the two crashes.

Motorists should avoid the area.
