Overlea convenience store robbed, 2 attempted robberies reported

Armed RobberyPolice are investigating a robbery and two attempted robberies that were reported on Monday.

At just before 7 a.m., a man was approached by another man who brandished a knife and demanded money in the 200 block of Mace Avenue in Essex (21221). After a brief verbal altercation, the suspect fled the scene.



At just before 5:30 p.m., an armed individual approached a woman and demanded his money in the 5600 block of Utrecht Road (21206). When the victim stated that she did not have any money, the suspect fled. Nothing was taken.

At just before 8 p.m., a man entered Grandpop’s Place, located in the 5200 block of Kenwood Avenue (21206), displayed a handgun, and demanded cash from the registers. The suspect was given the cash and fled the scene on foot. Police have not released a description of the suspect.
