At its meeting on Tuesday, February 20, the Baltimore County Board of Education will consider “Honeygo Elementary School” as the name of the new northeastern elementary school.
The 725-seat school will open this September near Joppa Road and Chapel Road in Perry Hall.
By a 59 to 41 percent, “Honeygo” was the top choice over “Honeygo Run.”

“I would like to thank the hundreds of residents who provided names and voted in the survey,” said Julie Henn, member of the Board of Education and a Perry Hall parent. “There is a lot of interest and excitement.”
“While my personal vote was for Honeygo Run, I believe that either name captures the spirit of this school, the first to be built in Perry Hall in a quarter-century,” added Councilman David Marks. “I would like to thank all those parents who worked with my office and my colleagues to support the construction of Honeygo Elementary School.”
Three new schools are budgeted to be built in northeastern Baltimore County between now and 2021.
Two new elementary schools and a middle school will provide relief for overcrowded classrooms in the area.
