Baltimore County seeking School Board, Ethics Review Panel members

School BusThe Baltimore County School Board Nominating Commission announced on Thursday that it would be accepting applications for the four at-large seats on the Board of Education of Baltimore County.

Following the 2014 and 2017 Maryland General Assembly Sessions, the composition and selection of the Board of Education of Baltimore County changed. Beginning in 2018, rather than the current 12-member fully appointed body, the Board will include both appointed and elected members. Seven members of the school board will be elected, while four members of the Board will be appointed by the Governor. The newly created Baltimore County School Board Nominating Commission has the task of selecting nominees to recommend to the Governor for the four at-large positions.

Commission Chairman Aaron Plymouth says, “Interested Baltimore County residents are urged to submit applications.”

The application form is available online: http://www.bcps.org/board/bcsb-nominating-commission.html. Applications will be accepted through March 16, 2018.

Applications can be mailed to the Baltimore County School Board Nominating Commission, c/o Debi Decker, 6901 N. Charles Street, Towson, MD 21204.

April 23 – Milford Mill Academy

June 4 – Dundalk High School
June 25 – Catonsville High School
