Baltimore County Councilman David Marks on Wednesday announced that a $1,000 grant would be provided to Joppa View Elementary School for efforts to increase awareness about the dangers of tobacco use.
The funding comes from the Cigarette Restitution Program administered by the Maryland Department of Health.
“I would like to thank the teachers and administration for participating in this program, which exposes students to healthy habits at an early age,” said Councilman Marks.
Throughout Baltimore County, twenty schools will benefit from these types of grants.
