Tree lighting, holiday parade, Noon Year’s Eve: winter fun at The Avenue

Several annual traditions will continue this year and have already been scheduled, including the grand opening of the new ice rink and the annual tree lighting and holiday parade.

Ice Rink Grand Opening
Wednesday, November 15
Noon to 10 p.m.

Lace up your skates – or just rent a pair. The Avenue will premiere its new 60′ x 115′ outdoor ice skating rink on November 15th.

20th Annual Tree Lighting
Friday, November 17
6 to 9 p.m.

Join host, Jamie Costello, as The Avenue unwraps another holiday season on Friday, November 17th. Live musical performance by King Teddy begins at 6 p.m. followed by Santa’s arrival to light the tree at 7 p.m. Then, stick around for visits with Santa, dinner at one of The Avenue restaurants – or demonstrate your ice skating skills on the brand new 60′ x 115′ outdoor ice rink.

Note – additional parking for customers of The Avenue will be available on the Mariner Finance lot (off of Town Center) Friday evenings through Sunday.

19th Annual Holiday Parade
Saturday, December 2
10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Avenue at White Marsh will play host to the area’s 19th Annual Holiday Parade on Saturday, December 2nd at 10 a.m. Celebrate the season with local high school marching bands, street performers, mascots, dance troops, and much more – all leading up to the big guy in the red suit.

Noon Year’s Eve Celebration
Sunday, December 31
10 a.m. to noon

Why stay up late to ring in the New Year? The Avenue is throwing a family celebration from 10:00 a.m. to noon on New Year’s Eve with live musical entertainment for kids by the Joanie Leeds Trio. Don’t miss the big countdown and the ball drop when the clock strikes noon. Then, stick around for lunch – or demonstrate your ice skating skills on the outdoor rink.
