perry-hall-high-schoolOfficials say a local high school was placed on alert status on Tuesday after receiving a threat.

School board member Julie Henn says that a threat was made against Perry Hall High School on Tuesday by an individual not on the campus.

The school was placed on alert status and BCPD are investigating.

Below is messaging sent by BCPS regarding this incident:

“Good afternoon Parents and Guardians of students attending school or camp activities at Perry Hall High School.

“Today, in an abundance of caution, the school was placed on alert status as police looked for a man who made a verbal threat against the school. The man is a BCPS employee but was not at the school when he made the comment. Police were immediately called when the threat was made and began patrolling the area around the school. Two officers were also stationed on school property. This happened after school dismissal but while some students were still on the school campus.

“Alert status means activities inside the school continue as normal but we do not allow any activities or movement outside.

“The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. Thank you for your time and attention. Enjoy the rest of your afternoon.”
