Crews are on the scene of a serious crash in Joppa. 

At just after 4 p.m., paramedics responded to the 500 block of Pulaski Highway for a report of a crash. 

All lanes of Route 40 have been shut down and a medevac chopper is on the scene, as well as numerous ambulances. 

Serious injuries have been reported as well as major delays. 

Motorists should avoid the area.
