Police are investigating after a convenience store in Essex was robbed at gunpoint last week.

At just before midnight on Thursday night, March 16, a man entered the Royal Farms store located in the 1000 block of Old Eastern Avenue, 21221.

The man displayed a handgun and demanded that the cashier open the register.

After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled the scene on foot.

No one was injured in the incident.
