Suspect in string of convenience store robberies arrested

Mark Eugene PetersA suspect has been arrested and charged in connection with a rash of recent convenience store robberies.

The string of robberies began just before 1 a.m. on May 24, when a male suspect walked into a Royal Farms Store in the 7200 block of York Road 21212. He displayed a handgun and demanded that the clerk open the register. The man fled the store with an undisclosed amount of money and cigarettes.Over the course of the next two weeks, the suspect robbed at least six convenience stores spread across several counties.

The suspect has been identified as 28-year-old Mark Eugene Peters, of no fixed address. He was taken into custody on June 9th.



Peters has been charged with multiple counts of armed robbery. He is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center. 

The subsequent investigation has indicated that Peters is responsible for the robberies listed below:

Harford County
May 30 12:27 a.m. – Royal Farms Store 2000 block of Mountain Road 21085

Howard County
May 29 3:19 p.m. – Royal Farms Store 8600 block of Washington Boulevard 20794

Detectives are continuing to work to see if the suspect is involved in the below listed robberies in Baltimore City.

May 26 12:42 a.m. – 7-Eleven 600 block of West 33rd Street 21211
June 2 1:21 a.m. – Royal Farms Store 200 block of West Coldspring Avenue 21210
June 2 2:08 a.m. – Royal Farms Store 1000 block of West 41st Street 21211
June 6 12:55 a.m. – Royal Farms Store 3600 block of Keswick Avenue 21211
June 8 2:16 a.m. – Royal Farms Store 1000 block of West 41st Street 21211
June 8 4:24 a.m. – 7-Eleven 6200 block of Belair Road 21206

All of the incidents remain under investigation.
