New speed cameras have arrived in the Perry Hall / Overlea area.
As construction picks up along the I-695/I-95 interchange, new speed cameras will be installed along the inner loop of the beltway to catch lead-footed drivers in the act.
The Maryland Transportation Authority says the new speed cameras were installed Thursday along the inner loop between the U.S. Route 1 and Philadelphia Road exits, according to WBAL-TV.
Beginning June 30, tickets will be issued for vehicles caught traveling at 12 mph or more over the 55 mph speed limit. A $40 fine will be assessed ti the vehicle’s registered owner.
Drivers who are caught before June 30th will receive warnings.
