A police pursuit is under way in Essex.

At about 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday, a vehicle began fleeing from police along Eastern Avenue near East Point Mall.

The suspects are believed to be wanted for armed robbery.  One suspect in the vehicle threw a gun over Back River Neck Bridge.

The vehicle has crashed at least once and is being driven on two flat tires.

The pursuit is ongoing at this hour with a police helicopter overhead.
