Councilman Marks: relocate proposed BGE facility from Perry Hall

PERRY HALL, MD—Baltimore County Councilman David Marks on Tuesday formally requested that BGE abandon plans for an expanded facility near Belair Road and Forge Road in Perry Hall.

“Since this project was proposed two years ago, we have had numerous meetings to try to reach a compromise that would minimize impacts on the Forge Reserve community,” Councilman Marks said. “It is clear this facility is unwelcome and simply too big for this corner. I have asked BGE to look for another location, or I will seek legislation to modify or block this plan.”

BGE has proposed a major expansion that would impact the Forge Reserve neighborhood to the east.

“I would like to thank Delegate Kathy Szeliga for working with me on this issue over the past two years,” Councilman Marks added. “She has really looked out for the interests of her constituents and demanded a better site.”
