Lidl holds ribbon-cutting ceremony at new Baltimore County stores [PHOTOS]

NOTTINGHAM, MD—It’s official.

Two new Lidl stores are open for business in Baltimore County.

The grocery chain cut the ribbon at their new stores in Perry Hall and in Catonsville on Wednesday morning.

LIDL will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

“Our newest store in Perry Hall will deliver healthy, fresh and award-winning products at prices that are truly attainable and will not break the bank,” said Perry Hall Store Manager Melissa Miller. “The team and I look forward to serving the community everyday.”

The lines for the new store in Perry Hall, located at the former Mars supermarket site at Belair Road and Silver Spring Road, wrapped around the block on Wednesday morning.

“Congratulations to the new LIDL in Perry Hall,” said Councilman David Marks.  “I stopped by this morning to wish employees well as the store prepares for an opening. Our office worked for three years to help fill this vacant property. It looks great!”

Lidl Stiftung & Co. KG is a German global discount supermarket chain, based in Neckarsulm, Germany, that operates over 10,000 stores across Europe and the United States. It belongs to Dieter Schwarz, who also owns the store chains Handelshof and hypermarket Kaufland.

“Attracting an anchor to this site has been a priority for me since the Mars supermarket closed in 2016,” said Councilman David Marks earlier this year.
