A Monday afternoon vehicle fire has shut down a portion of a busy thoroughfare in White Marsh. 

At just after 4:30 p.m., fire crews responded to Pulaski Highway at Jones Road, near Midway Liquors, for a report of a vehicle fire.  

All eastbound lanes of Route 40 have been shut down due to the fire, according to the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company. 

There has been no word as to any injuries. 

Motorists should avoid the area.
